Cheesy Beany Shepherd's Pie
Serves 6
Core recipe
1.5 kg potatoes
200g tub of ww cheese spread or extra light Philly for NC
splash of skimmed milk
454g extra lean minced beef
250g punnet of mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 oxo cubes (beef)
1 clove garlic,crushed
400g tin baked beans
Put potatoes on to boil.
Put beef, mushrooms, onion, soy sauce, oxo & garlic in a pan and simmer for 15 minutes. Add baked beans, simmer for 5 more minutes.
When potatoes are cooked drain and put in cheese & milk and give a good mash.
Turn beef mixture into large pie dish, then top with mash mixture.
Bake at Gas 5 for 25-30 mins till brown on top
