Moorish Chick Peas

Moorish Chick Peas

Serves 4
Core recipe

1 Large onion chopped
2 garlic cloves crushed
1 green pepper deseeded and sliced
2 x 397g cans of chick peas drained
397g can chopped tomatoes
1tsp ground cumin
1tsp dried oregano
salt and ground black pepper to taste
198g tin sweetcorn, drained


Place all the ingredients except the sweetcorn in a large saucepan.  Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes until the onions and pepper are tender.  Season to taste and add sweetcorn just before serving.  Can be served hot or cold.
