1) Mix large tin tuna with tub of
quark, add salt/pepper & lemon juice. Herbs optional & you have tuna
mayonnaise
2) Mix crushed garlic & chopped
herbs with Quark & you have herb and garlic cheese.
3) Mix marmite to taste with Quark
& you have a savoury alternative to butter for sandwiches.
4) Mix Quark with hard boiled egg
& you have egg mayo.
5) Stir in ½ fat cheese (around 3
pps for 40g) or stilton (4pps for 40g). Leave for the flavour to develop
and use as a filling for jacket potatoes or as a stir in pasta sauce.
6) Mix in chopped red pepper &
chilli for a fiery dip or spread.
7) Use in place of cottage cheese
for quiche recipes.
8) Mix with frozen summer fruits
and sweetener to use as a dessert.
NB: When you are cooking with Quark, always add it off the heat just before you serve otherwise it separates. Although this doesn't affect the flavour, it may not look appealing.
Here's another idea
Cheese Sauce / Dip
1 pack
quark cheese
1/2
pack of dill
1/2
pack mustard and cress
1 lime
Lots
of salt and pepper
Roughly
break up the dill 'fronds'
Add
the cress
Cut
the lime and squeeze over the herbs.
Add
the cheese and mix until smooth
Add
the salt and pepper to taste (quark seems to require a lot of both)
Serve
with celery sticks and radishes.
