Creamy Steak Dauphinoise

Creamy Steak Dauphinoise

Serves 2
6 pts per serving (original points)

2 x 150g lean fillet steak
LF cooking spray
175g potato- peeled and sliced thinly
1 small red oion - sliced in rings
100ml skimmed milk
1 garlic glove - sliced
3 fresh thyme sprigs
2 tbsp LF soft cheese
salt and freshly ground black pepper.


Preheat oven Gas 5/190C/fan 170C then preheat baking tray.


Heat non stick fry pan until hot and spray steaks with LF cooking spray. Cook in pan for 1 min each side then transfer to plate and set aside.

Put potatoes, onions, milk, garlic and thyme in saucepan. Cover and cook gently for 10-15 mins on low heat until nearly tender. Strain, reserving all cooking liquid and transfer to a bowl. Discard thyme sprigs.

Mix LF soft cheese with reserved cooking liquid and season generously. Pour over the onions and potatoes and toss to coat. Leave to cool.

Carefully stack the onions and potatoes on top of each steak. Remove the heated baking tray from oven and transfer the steaks to the tray. Bake foe 15-20 mins until potatoes are golden. Sprinke over some fresh ground black pepper and serve immediately.
