Grannys Apple

For no count,
1 pt for sugar and 2 for bread
4 Granny
Smith apples, peeled
Lemon or lime
juice
3 heaped tsps
of demerara sugar (1pt)
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
3 slices of
low calorie white bread (2pts)
1 med egg,
beaten
18cm flan
dish greased with a tsp of low fat spread
1. Pre-heat
oven to gas mark 4/180C/350F. Core and cut each apple into 8 slices. Place the
apple slices in a small pan with the lemon or lime juice and simmer until they
are just tender and retaining their shape. Lift the slices onto a plate.
2. Mix the demerara
sugar and cinnamon together then sprinkle over the bottom of the flan dish.
Place the apple slices on top. Dip the bread into the beaten egg. Cover the
apple with the slices of bread and sprinkle with the cinnamon.
3. Bake in
the centre of oven for 20-25 mins, until golden brown. Serve.
