HOT BUTTER BEANS

1  finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped green  pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 x 400g can butter beans, rinsed, drained
1 x 400g can diced tomatoes, undrained
3 tbsp Splenda
2 tsp chili powder
1/16 tsp ground allspice
1/16 tsp ground cloves
Salt to taste

Spray oil a large nonstick pan. Add onion,  pepper, and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, 5 minutes or until onion is lightly browned.

Add remaining ingredients and when mixture boils, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 15 minutes. Stir occasionally while cooking.

Serve over brown rice.
