Practically syn-free hummus
Green day:
1 cup dry chickpeas
5 cups water
6 bay leaves; or so
¾ cup Chopped onion
1 Clove garlic
1 level tablespoon Tomato puree (0.5syns)
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
¾ teaspoon Ground cumin
¼ teaspoon Paprika
⅛ teaspoon Cayenne
¼ teaspoon Black pepper
¾ teaspoon Salt
Soak chickpeas overnight in loads of water.
Drain and put in large saucepan, add the five cups of water and bayleaves. Bring to boil then put on medium heat for 1.5 hours or so until chickpeas are soft.
Drain and then puree with all other ingredients. Add a little water if mixture seems to thick.
